Effective date: October 24, 2026
Hi, I’m Kate Huff. I run Kate Huff Enterprises LLC, doing business as Newsletters Made Simple. This policy explains, in plain English, what information this website collects, how I use it, and the choices you have. It covers newslettersmadesimple.co and the signup and booking pages linked from it.
If you have a question about any of this, just email me at newslettersmadesimple@gmail.com.
The short version
- I only collect what I need to send you my newsletter, book a call with you, and run this website.
- I don’t sell your personal information.
- You can unsubscribe from my emails any time, with one click.
- You can ask me to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing me.
What I collect
When you sign up for my free newsletter or checklist. The signup form is hosted by MailerLite, my email platform. It asks for your email address and, if you choose to share them, your first and last name. You can also choose which list you want to join (for example, Newsletters Made Simple or my author newsletter as Kate Olivia Huff). MailerLite also records things like when you signed up and, once you’re subscribed, whether you open or click my emails.
When you book a call. The “Book a Call” buttons go to a booking page hosted by MailerLite. It asks for your name, last name, and email address, plus the date, time, and time zone you pick. There’s an optional checkbox if you’d like to receive updates from Newsletters Made Simple. You only join my newsletter from the booking page if you tick that box. Your booking details are saved in my MailerLite account so I can keep track of calls.
When you email me. If you email me, I’ll have your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
When you work with me. If you become a client, I may need temporary access to your email platform, website, or domain (DNS) settings to do the work. I only use that access for your project. The details are covered in our separate agreement or proposal.
When you visit the site. Like most websites, the server that hosts this site may automatically log basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and when you visited.
Analytics and tracking. I use a WordPress plugin called Independent Analytics to see how people find and use this site. It shows me things like which pages are visited, how long visits last, which website or search engine sent you here, your country and city, and your type of device, browser, and operating system. It doesn’t use cookies. It uses your IP address to work out your approximate location and to create a scrambled visitor ID (a one-way code that can’t be turned back into your IP address), but it doesn’t store your IP address. All of this data stays in my site’s own database on the server that hosts this site. It isn’t sent to Independent Analytics or anyone else. My own visits while I’m logged in aren’t counted. You can read more in Independent Analytics’ privacy information.
How I use your information
- To send you the newsletter, checklist, or updates you asked for
- To schedule, prepare for, and follow up on calls you book
- To reply to your emails and questions
- To provide the services you hire me for
- To keep this website running, secure, and working well
I don’t use your information for anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect, and I don’t sell it or rent it to anyone.
Who else handles your information
I use a few trusted services to run my business. They handle your information on my behalf and under their own privacy policies:
- MailerLite runs my newsletter signup form, my email list, and my booking page. Your name, email, and booking details are stored there. MailerLite Privacy Policy
- Google reCAPTCHA is used on the MailerLite signup form to block spam signups. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Calendar receives the details of calls you book so they show up on my calendar, and you get a calendar invitation by email. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Meet is the video meeting service I use for calls. The meeting link is in your calendar invitation. Google Privacy Policy
- Stripe is the payment processor connected to my MailerLite checkout page. Discovery calls are free, so you aren’t asked for card details when you book one. If a booking ever involves a payment, it’s processed securely by Stripe, and I never see or store your full card number. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Bluehost hosts this website, which runs on WordPress. Bluehost (Newfold Digital) Privacy Center
The fonts on this site are stored on my own web host, not loaded from Google Fonts.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser.
- WordPress sets cookies when someone logs in to the site (that’s mostly me) and may set a cookie to remember your name and email if you leave a comment.
- MailerLite, Google reCAPTCHA, and Stripe may set their own cookies on their hosted signup and booking pages, to keep those pages secure and working.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may not.
Your emails, your choice
Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you’re off the list, no hard feelings. You can also email me and I’ll remove you myself.
Seeing, changing, or deleting your information
You can email me at newslettersmadesimple@gmail.com at any time to:
- ask what information I have about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- ask me to delete your information
I’ll reply as soon as I can, and within 30 days. I may need to confirm it’s really you before I make changes. I may need to keep a small amount of information if the law requires it, for example business records of work we did together.
How long I keep information
I keep your newsletter information for as long as you’re subscribed. I keep booking and client information for as long as I need it to work with you and to keep reasonable business records. When I no longer need information, I delete it.
Keeping your information safe
I use reputable services with security built in and keep access to my accounts limited. No website or online service is ever 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.
If you live in the EU, UK, or California
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the EU and UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may give you extra rights. These can include the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, to object to or limit how it’s used, and to withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing). I don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
When the GDPR applies, I rely on your consent for my newsletter, and on what’s needed to set up and provide services you ask for when you book a call or hire me. My service providers may store information in the United States or other countries.
To use any of these rights, email me. I won’t treat you differently for asking. This is a small business, and this section is a good-faith summary, not a claim of any certification.
Children
This site and my services are meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, such as The Write Conversation blog, my clients’ websites, and The Wandering Words. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I’m not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time, for example if I start using a new tool. When I do, I’ll change the effective date at the top. If the change is important, I’ll make it clear on the site or let subscribers know by email.
